For a New Day

The night comes alone
needing light’s embrace
for a day of joy from pain
afraid faith is at an end.

Lying on a bed of Springs
with a steering heart
hungry for her midnight
eyes, like mine.

Running without her,
pounding on night’s doors,
lifting stones, alone
living true lies at cafes
where her heart hunts.
